The family of David Hartanto Widjaja and his father, Mr Hartanto Widjaja, his elder brother and his mother flew back to Jakarta on 4 March 2009. Nanyang Technological University (NTU) student David Hartanto Widjaja, 21, fell to his death on 2 March 2009 from the roof of a bridge that links NTUís School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering to an adjacent building. Widjaja had earlier stabbed his project supervisor, Associate Professor Chan Kap Luk.
A rose left at the spot where David Hartanto Widjaja, 21, a final-year Indonesian undergraduate at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), had jumped to his death on 2 March 2009. He had earlier attacked Associate Professor Chan Kap Luk with a knife before fleeing and taking his own life. Both Widjaja and the professor were from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE).
